Description: Fresh oregano has a spicy aroma reminiscent of clove and balsam, and the dried herb has a pungent flavor with notes of peppermint, pine and clove.
Culinary Use: The leaves are most commonly used, however stalk and leaves can be used to flavor stocks or stews. Can be used chopped raw added to dishes, in stews, soups, and basting garni (bouquet). Compliments with, beef, eggs, garlic, goat cheese, pork, poultry, sauces, Tomato.
