Chives

Description: Chives are the bright green, long, hollow, thin leaves of Allium schoenoprasum.  A member of the lily family, chives have a mild, onion  flavour, with a hint of garlic.

Culinary Use: Chives compliment cheeses, breads, dips, omelettes, pasta salads, potato dishes, quiches, salad dressings, soups, and stews. If used in cooked dishes they should be introduced at the last moment to best preserve their flavour.
