Beets Escarole Garlic Scapes Lettuce Strawberries

Escarole:  This variety has a delicate crunchy texture, with a mildy bitter sweet taste; the base for Italian salads.

Garlic Scapes:  The beauty of eating with the seasons, is the anticpation of waiting for the vegetables we dearly enjoy.  Garlic scapes only come once a year and we take the opportunity to make a delicious garlic pesto that can be used as a spread on crostini, for a pasta dish, with stir fry or sandwiches.  Check our website for the garlic pesto recipe, http://www.purplerainvineyard.com/recipes.php?letter=G.
